Why Capital Prep?
Founded by Dr. Steve Perry, Capital Preparatory Schools is a Charter Management Organization operating charter schools across New York and Connecticut. Our mission is to provide historically disadvantaged youth with the support they need to achieve academic success.
College Preparatory Model
as early as 6th grade, with rigorous academics and high expectations.
Two-Sport Requirement
including competitive varsity athletics, promoting values of teamwork, sportsmanship, positive self-esteem, and health & wellness.
Immersive Social Justice Education
that develops scholars as agents of change in their community & beyond. Seniors must complete and pass Capital Prep's Social Justice Project (SJP) as a graduation requirement.
Dual Enrollment Program
that provides the opportunity for scholars to take college classes, collect college credits, and even earn their Associate Degree at the same time as their High School Diploma.
Student-Led Leadership
such as student-led conferences, student government, and more - that support our scholars’ personal and academic growth beyond the classroom
